Services
Garden maintenance
If you need a regular hand with keeping your garden looking its best I can provide services on an per hour or day rate, or on a retainer. Tasks include weeding, pruning, planting, containers, hedge trimming and mowing.
I have attended a fruit tree pruning course, run by Brighton Permaculture Trust, and enjoy carrying out restoration and maintenance pruning, particularly on apple and pear trees.
I do not do tree surgery but can advise on pruning requirements and recommend contractors.
Garden planning and design
From an initial consultation to understand your needs and preferences, I will help you unlock your garden’s potential.
This could be a new planting plan, or a patio revamp, to a whole new redesign with hard landscaping.
Following an initial consultation, I can carry out a site assessment that includes measuring your plot, soil testing, and a site appraisal.
By knowing which plants will thrive in your garden, I can show you how you can achieve a colourful and interesting space all year round.
Production of full site plans and design options are all bespoke and will be quoted for seperately.
Container gardens
I know that not everyone has access to a garden, so if you’ve got a balcony that needs some colour, or you want some planters or hanging baskets to brighten up a dull corner I can create bespoke mini gardens for you.
I can use your existing planters or baskets and refill them for you, or I can provide them.
I will provide advice on how to look after your plants, or can provide a maintenance service.

About Denise
I’ve been into gardening as a hobby for more than 20 years, successfully growing, propagating, planting and caring for all types of plants as well as designing creative and usable hard and soft landscaping solutions for friends and family.
Having taken an opportunity to make my passion for gardening my career I trained at Plumpton College and completed the RHS Level 2 Diploma in the Principles and Practices of Horticulture.
Having spent the majority of my previous career as a project manager I know how to plan and deliver successful projects. I have extensive experience in dealing with a wide range of clients and aim to ensure my clients are informed and consulted throughout the entire project.
I’m Eastbourne born and bred so know the local terrain and conditions that will affect your garden!
Chalk? Yeah I’ve got that in my garden, few inches of poor soil then boom solid chalk! So I know what plants will thrive (including the weeds that love it…)
Clay? I’ve been there too, there’s lots we can do to improve it, remember it’s actually rich in nutrients so is fertile stuff.
Pebbles/shingle? Container gardening or coastal planting schemes are ideal here.
Loamy soil? You lucky thing, I will love working in your garden!
I mainly work in Eastbourne, but do have clients a bit further afield so please contact me to discuss your requirements.
